What is the advantage of umbilical derived stem cells over harvesting my own stem cells?  In a head to head study, Umbilical Cord Stem Cells(UCST) are more effective in treating injuries and diseases than Bone Marrow Stem Cells.  UCST are younger, healthier cells and have the ability to differentiate into various cell types.  The procedure to harvest your own bone marrow stem cells can often be very painful, and umbilical derived stem cells are in abundant supply. Most Drs. that offer stem cell treatment harvest your stem cells from your bone marrow or adipose tissue and then give your old, tired cells back to you.  This treatment is often painful, and is a time consuming surgical procedure.  In a head to head study, Umbilical Cord Stem Cells(UCST) are more effective in treating injuries and diseases than Bone Marrow or Adipose Stem Cells. UCST are younger, healthier cells and have the ability to differentiate into every tissue type in the human body.  Since UCST live  for 6-8 months, they signal your own tissue to regenerate/repair over that entire time. That’s why I see improvements in joint pain, heart failure, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Lupus, and many other diseases. 

How are stem cells administered?  The stem cells are administered via injection or infusion, depending on the health issue being treated, so pain/discomfort is minimal.

Are the umbilical cord stem cells obtained from terminated babies?  The stem cells we use come only from LIVE BIRTH babies’ umbilical cords.  They are harvested after a baby is born, and sent immediately to the lab for quality testing before they are sent to Dr. Scott for treatments.

Could I have an allergic reaction to the stem cells?  Umbilical cord derived stem cells have a lower risk of rejection as they are immunologically immature. This means they are less likely to be recognized as foreign by your immune system, reducing the chances of rejection and increasing the success rate of the treatment. To date there has never been a major adverse event related to treatment with UCSTs. People who have a sulfa allergy will be pre-treated with Benadryl & Tylenol, because the preservative that the stem cells are suspended in is sulfa based. Sulfa allergy is not an absolute contraindication.
